The memorandum sets a framework for more intensive cooperation between the two countries in the sector, including the exchange of knowledge and experience, regulatory cooperation, human resources development, research and innovation, and consideration of the possibility of applying advanced nuclear technologies, the ministry said in a press release.
Special emphasis will be placed on issues of nuclear safety and security, and on the management of nuclear fuel and radioactive waste. The two countries will also pursue cooperation in the development of advanced nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors (SMRs), as well as in the field of research, development and innovation.
Croatia, together with Slovenia, co-owns the Krsko nuclear power plant.
