CEO Samruk-Kazyna welfare fund Akhmetzjan Yesimov briefed the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the results the fund’s activities in the first 7 months of the current year and plans for the forthcoming period.
The main indicators for the first half of the year are positive. 18 assets worth KZT 42 billion ($117 million) were sold out as part of the privatization program, Yesimov said.
“Initial public ordering of 3 of our companies will done by year end: Kazakhtelecom, Air Astana and Kazatomprom,” Akhmetjan Yesimov said.
Nazarbayev stressed the importance of transferring the fund’s assets to private hands, said it will positively impact on small and medium businesses.
